About the Author John Jansen:

John Jansen is a Lead Software Design Engineer in Test at Microsoft, working in the Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer product group. He has been with Microsoft for more than nine years, working as a Microsoft Office FrontPage support technician before moving over to a test position in 2001 in the FrontPage product group.

He has been testing the SharePoint Designer implementation of XSLT and Microsoft ASP.NET controls for the last few years, and leads a team of six engineers. He also focuses his energy on security throughout the SharePoint platform, as well as blogging with the community and researching new Web application design techniques.

Before coming to Microsoft, John taught online English courses at North Seattle Community College and worked with a small team of real estate agents as a database administrator and marketing specialist. When not working full time at Microsoft or writing books about SharePoint Designer, John maintains his wife´s business Web site (which was built on SharePoint Team Services and then migrated to Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services). In addition, he likes to hang out with his 4-year-old daughter, Ryan, and his wife, Christa, in Seattle, Washington.
